Ripples – Reflecting on this year brings me to my knees
If you follow my business, you know a big part of my heart is in giving to those in lost, tired and broken chapters of life. I believe that buying and selling a home is a blessing for my clients. Being a part of the journey is a blessing to me. At the closing of each transaction I give my clients the opportunity to donate a portion of my commission to a cause of their choosing and to become a part of the RIPPLES!
Reflecting on this year brings me to my knees.
Almost exactly one year ago, I sat at a closing table and was hit with the awareness that this IS my ministry. And, that I could be using this business to create a large impact- a large ripple. On that day I made a commitment to to my God and to myself to completely reorganize my business model and to make an impactful donation with every closing a non-negotiable pillar of my business.
2020 has rocked us all
My husband lost his job due to company downsizing from Covid-19. All five of my children’s school went full-time online in April. The Colorado real estate market came to an abrupt halt…and then came back with a rollercoaster vengeance. Numerous times along the way I fought an internal battle…”maybe this one time I wont donate”….”we could really use this money”… But, I believe in my own commitments. Even when no-one is watching. I never missed a donation. Even when it hurt I still gave and, every time, there was an impact. I received numerous phone calls from teary recipients expressing the decrease in donations this year and their gratitude. I learned more about my clients through the stories they shared with me about the foundations that matter to them. And my faith grew. As one of our donation recipients so perfectly said “You can never out-give God!!”
I will continue to hear my clients hearts and I will continue to give in a big, giant way! I will continue to serve my clients at the very highest level. I will continue to grow an amazing team that is truly second to none. Even in the face of uncertainty and chaos, to have faith.

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” – Mother Teresa
My hope is that my followers and past and future clients will begin to see, like I do, that within the story of each closing is a ripple of love and hope reaching far beyond a single home.
I hope that you follow along and celebrate the journey of homes being bought and sold…and lives being touched with those ripples.
Sincerely,
Jessica
